Genuine Free Software
Genuine Free Software is software which is genuinely free.
Genuine Free Software is unencumbered by restrictions due to copyright law.
Genuine Free Software is also known as Public Domain Software.
Genuine Free Software is not very common.
Most software comes with copyright statements and
license agreements. Such software is not genuinely
free.
Genuine Free Software can be contrasted with Fake Free
Software - which is software which claims to be
free - but which is actually copyrighted,
and thus subjected to a variety of restrictions which place
limits on what can be done with it.
